Cricket lovers are in for a treat with the compliments of NAGICO Insurance. On Wednesday NAGICO went on board as the main sponsor for the upcoming live broadcast of the 2008 DIGICEL Home Series on Channel 55. They handed over a $5,000 check to St. Maarten Cable TV's Davy Woods to cover the deposit for the live broadcast which will run from this weekend until July 6th.

McSood Amjad made the presentation to Mr. Woods in the company of Marketing Officer Dylan Smith. McSood explained that there was a double purpose for supporting the venture. He said, "St. Maarten's cricket fans can now join the world for the exciting ball by ball coverage of the cricketing action between The West Indies and Sri Lanka April 3rd - 7 and 10th, 12, and 16; then again between The West Indies and Australia from May to July. Our commitment to cricket is based on continuity and ensuring that fans and players alike are happy. We're not only giving the fans the opportunity to see the live cricket but we are ensuring that the youth have maximum exposure to international cricket action."

Davy Woods commented on the sponsorship, "NAGICO has stepped up to the plate again as they usually do and we're please to work with them and the St. Maarten Cricket Association to bring these games to the St. Maarten cricket fans."

McSood continued, "We want the young cricketers to see what the cricket professionals are doing on the international stage, we know they'll be able to learn from the display of skills the'll see in each game. This is the way NAGICO keeps the enthusiasm and interest in the game alive and strong on St. Maarten.
