NAIGICO Supports Teen Pageant Contestant

Philipsburg, St. Maarten: NAGICO Insurances presented pageant contestant, Ms. Bria Sorton with a check on Monday 6th April 2009, supporting her bid to become Carnival Teen Queen 2009. In return for NAGICO’s contribution, Bria will be used in several of NAGICO’s promotions throughout the year. The 15 year old Bria, who is a student at the St. Maarten Academy, expressed her gratitude for NAGICO’s support by stating, “Thank you very much for sponsoring me for the Carnival Teen Pageant.
I am very excited that I will be able to participate. I am particularly excited that my involvement with NAGICO will continue even after the pageant ends.” Ms. Rolanda Webster who is Bria’s chaperon for the duration of the competition was also pleased with NAGICO ‘s donation to sponsor Bria.
Ms. Webster stated, “It is very encouraging that NAGICO has been able to support us this year especially seeing that it was so hard to get sponsorship due to the global economic situation. We are very grateful.”
The Teen Queen Pageant which will be held on Sunday 19th April, 2009 is just one of the many shows that are being organized by The St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF). SCDF president, Mr. Kendall Dupersoy stated, “I would like to encourage NAGICO and other corporate sponsors to continue in assisting our pageant contestants through sponsorships. It is because of them that they are able to participate in these cultural shows.”
