THE KINGS REIGN OVER THE NAGICO BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

Philipsburg, St. Maarten - A perfect record and the first team to score 100 points are two elements that can be attributed to the current reign of the Kings as the current top dogs of the NAGICO Basketball Tournament.

On Tuesday night the Jaguars faced off against the United Kings. The Jaguars who have been struggling in the competition were once again defeated by a highly charged Sucker Garden team. The Kings eventually won the game by 111 to 76 by exhibiting a highly refined offensive prowess that could not be stopped by a over powered Jaguars.

With this victory, the Kings achieved the accolade of being the first team in the tournament to score 100 points or more. The Kings was lead by Traval Bryan who ended with 36 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. The Jaguars leading scorer ended the evening with a total of 27 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.

The other match of the evening saw the Rug Rats battle against the Rebels. The game ended in a thrilling 59 - 61 victory for the Rebels. The 2 (two) point difference reflected a game that was fought between two determined teams. The Rug Rats' top player of the game, Escribe Samuel who had 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists, was not able to lead his team to victory. Martin Wilson of the Rebels on the other hand ended the game with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
