Glenville Blake Speaks at Boys Brigade

Philipsburg, St. Maarten - Chief Financial Officer of National General Insurance Company, Mr. Glenville Blake represented NAGICO Insurances at The Boy's Brigade Eastern & Southern Caribbean Regional Fellowship which was held on Tuesday 22nd July 2008.

Mr. Blake spoke briefly at the gathering about the core values of the Boy's Brigade and how they were applicable to the live of each boy. Discipline, reverence, obedience and self-respect were the main points that were focused on by Blake. "What do you want to be when you grow up" was the question that was posed to the approximately 40 young men who were present. "A deep sea welder" the answer given by one of the more vocal boys.

Blake proceeded to use the example of the deep sea diver to relate to the boys how the values learnt at the Brigade could be used in everyday life. "Give respect to get respect" was another point that Mr. Blake stressed, "Respect needs to be shown if he wants to become the best" referring to the young man.

"What would happen if he does the job his way as opposed to the correct way?" was the question asked as obedience became the focus of the speech. "He won't do his job, right" was one of the many answers given. "You need faith and courage to reach your ultimate goal. Discipline reaps success" was the last tip of advice given by the NAGICO CFO.

Mr. Blake ended by stating "the core values were not only values for the boy's brigade but values for life.

Manpower, which was donated in the form of Mr. Blake to the Boy' s Brigade was not the only donation made. NAGICO Insurances had also given a monetary donation of $1,000 towards the camp.
