A seven - wicket haul from Larry Joseph carried Antigua to a 178 run victory over the USVI in third round action of the 2008 Leeward Islands NAGICO Sponsored One Day Cricket tournament. The match which was played at the Molyneaux ground saw the mighty Antiguans rolling over the USVI who could only muster an all total of 54 runs in their reply.

After winning the toss Antigua batted first and posted the challenging total as the rain was unable to affect their game. This meant that the Antiguans were able to play for their fifty overs. However they were bowled out in 49.4 overs after making 242 all out. Larry Joseph had earlier starred with the bat making an even fifty. He was well supported with significant scores of 33 from Justin Aythanaze, Sherwin Peters and Austin Richards respectively.

For the USVI Calvin Peters was the pick of the bowling with three for 25 with Eusede two for 22 and Kurvin Charles two for 38 being the other bowler turning in good performances.

In the USVI innings only Keith Elliot with a top score of fifteen offered any resistance to the Antiguans as a number of wickets were foolishly given away by lackluster shots and unnecessary run outs.

The Antiguans are certainly on course to reclaim the title that they lost to St Kitts last year winning all three of their matches thus far in this year's competition. They will face St Marten today at the Warner Park Ground while USVI will look to turn in a winning performance when they come up against Nevis at Cayon.

In the other match played at the Cayon Ground Anguilla made 270 all-out in their 50 overs. Leading the charge for the Anguillans were Chesney Hughes with a brilliant crafted 75 while Terry Adam and Monsin Hodge both made 29. Lendell Richardson, Jahmal Hamilton and Junior Johnson chipped in with scores of 28, 24 and 20 respectively.

Bowling for BVI Doprain Auguiste had two for 39 while John Baily with two for 46 and Maxwell Pipe two for 54 were the other bowlers turning in credible performances.

BVI in reply could only muster a total of 145 all out in 29.2 overs. Austin Dorwan made 35 while Maxwell Pipe 27, John Baily 25 and Dennisford Browne 20 were the other main contributors.

BVI lost the match by 125 runs. In today's fourth round action, BVI will play St Kitts at Conaree while Anguilla will come up against Montserrat at Molyneaux.
